It’s been a bit of a year….
Work’s been flat out, and I’ve built up a lovely bank of projects I’m super proud of. I’ve found myself moving more towards the kind of work that genuinely means something to me. Experimenting with different formats and techniques has been the best. I’ve been buried in a new website, a rebrand, and generally levelling everything up a bit. There’s been plenty of fun stuff in the mix too.
I’ve made more GIFs than I can shake a stick at, and I’ve been lucky enough to shoot a fair few campaigns across stills and motion with more of an analogue film feel running through them. It’s been lovely seeing people lean back towards work that feels more tactile and less polished.
But behind the scenes, life’s been fairly full on…
My wife was really unwell for most of last year, so I spent a while downing tools to care for her and the kids. I was just blown away by her strength throughout and thankfully she’s on the mend and doing well now. Then, to keep things interesting, I managed to break my collarbone a week before a big shoot earlier this spring. Then there’s just the usual stuff, raising a young family (and their numerous pets), spinning plates, and generally trying to keep the wheels on.
A massive thank you to everyone on the sidelines who kept me upright since last March. You’re the best.
I’m still here. Quietly grafting.
With a renewed clarity on exactly the kind of work I want to make and the people I want to make it with.
